At Kaly Ora, protecting our planet isn’t an option — it’s the foundation of everything we do. From the beginning, we’ve been driven by the desire to create beautiful swimwear with a purpose: preserving natural resources and minimizing our ecological footprint. We work daily to reduce our environmental impact and create collections that respect the planet while celebrating your individuality.
Sustainable, recycled, certified materials
Our swimsuits are made using high-quality recycled materials, giving a second life to waste like discarded fishing nets, plastic bottles, and fabric scraps. Every fabric we select is chosen for its positive environmental impact.
We currently work with innovative fibers like ECONYL®, a regenerated nylon made from ocean and landfill waste, and REPREVE®, a performance fiber crafted from recycled plastic bottles. These materials allow us to create swimwear that feels luxurious, moves with you, and respects the planet.
A circular, responsible production model
One of the most powerful aspects of ECONYL® is its ability to be recycled infinitely without losing quality. That means your swimsuit, after years of use, can be regenerated into new yarn, contributing to a fully circular and responsible production system. Even better, because our raw materials come from waste, we never draw on the earth’s natural resources.
The journey of your swimsuit
From plastic waste to beautiful swimwear, here’s how your Kaly Ora swimsuit comes to life:
- Plastic waste is collected around the world.
- It is cleaned in Slovenia and transformed into high-quality yarn at a specialist facility.
- The yarn is then sent to Italy, where it’s woven into soft, durable, premium fabric.
- This fabric travels to Istanbul, where each piece is carefully and ethically crafted in small, family-run workshops — not factories.
- Finally, your swimwear arrives in Belgium, ready to be worn with pride.

Respect for people is at the core of everything we do. That’s why we work exclusively with small, family-run atelier rather than factories, ensuring fair, safe, and respectful working conditions. We carefully select our partners based on shared values and regularly audit their practices to guarantee that every piece is made ethically and responsibly. The ateliers we work with are based in Portugal, Italy and Turkey.
Certified, traceable, transparent
To offer full transparency, all our fabrics and yarns are certified: GRS (Global Recycled Standard), Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and BCI (Better Cotton Initiative) for our beachwear. We're also working on providing third-party audits and certifications validating our sustainable materials and ethical production processes — so you can wear your Kaly Ora swimsuit with complete peace of mind.
